Day 2

This series of pictures were taken on day two in Lindsay's recovery room. Those in this series with dates on them were taken with Melissa's camera. You may notice the date was off as these were actually taken on 2 Dec. Interestingly enough Lindsay had hoped Shelby would be born on 24 Nov. as that is her late father Lynn's birthday. She says the date slip up was actually his way of showing he was there with us.

She's a bit swollen here. And you can start to see the yellow in her face that would end up as jaundice.

Our first family photos

Later in the day Lindsay's sister Sarah and family visited. Can't you tell Shelby's so happy to meet her cousins Savannah, Talia, and Caleb. She met Sarah's husband Chris as well, but he was being camera shy.

Day 1

Here we go.

Shelby arrived just after 3 pm on December 1, 2007. She weighed 8 lbs. 1 oz. and was 20 1/2 inches.

That's Lindsay's sister Sarah weighing and measuring her. One of the reasons we chose American Fork Hospital is that Sarah is an L&D nurse there. She happened to be scheduled to work at 6 am on Dec. 1st, 3 hours after Lindsay got to the hospital--one of several coincidences that day. Shelby's birthday also happens to be 35 years to the day that my parents were married.

When she came out she had the craziest cone head I'd ever seen. She had spent about 10 minutes with the crown of her head sticking out before the rest of her finally came, and here's the result.

But cone head or not we were both taken with her as evidenced by these shots.
